Dara Houp, PsyD, received her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Regent University and completed her predoctoral internship at Hutchings Psychiatric Center in Syracuse, NY. She also holds a Masters in Professional Counseling from Richmont Graduate University, where she specialized in trauma. Her clinical training exposed her to a wide range of mental health concerns, both nationally and internationally, across prisons and private practices.
Dr. Houp conceptualizes from a psychodynamic framework, valuing its emphasis on people as complexly relational beings who are best understood within their own life story. Based on individual needs and preferences, she tailors treatment to incorporate a variety of evidence-based interventions. She also conducts assessments with children and adults to aid treament, encourage personal growth and exploration, and answer specific referral questions. Dr. Houp is passionate about advocating for others, providing quality clinical care, and learning from each person she encounters.
Outside of work, she enjoys hiking, photography, and eating dessert with her husband.
