Psychological and neuropsychological assessment can be a valuable tool when symptoms are complex, overlapping, or unclear. Many adults seek evaluation after years of functioning through anxiety, burnout, attention difficulties, or emotional strain — without a clear understanding of what is driving their experience.
Assessment is not about labeling for its own sake. It is about clarifying patterns, identifying strengths and vulnerabilities, and informing meaningful treatment and support.
When Assessment May Be Helpful
Psychological or neuropsychological testing may be appropriate when:
- symptoms are persistent despite therapy or medication
- ADHD is suspected but difficult to distinguish from anxiety, depression, trauma, or burnout
- executive functioning difficulties are interfering with work or daily life
- there is uncertainty about diagnosis or treatment direction
- documentation is needed for academic or workplace accommodations
- a more comprehensive understanding of cognitive and emotional functioning would guide next steps
Assessment is particularly useful when insight alone has not led to sustained change.
What We Assess
Our assessments are individualized and tailored to the referral question. Areas commonly evaluated include:
- attention and executive functioning
- working memory, processing speed, and cognitive efficiency
- emotional functioning and stress response
- mood and anxiety symptoms
- personality and coping style
- interaction between cognitive and emotional factors
We focus on how these domains interact in real-world functioning, not just test scores in isolation.
Our Assessment Process
Assessments are conducted by licensed psychologists with advanced training in psychological and neuropsychological evaluation.
The process typically includes:
- Comprehensive intake
A detailed clinical interview to understand history, current concerns, and referral questions. - Standardized testing
Selection of evidence-based measures tailored to the individual and referral goals. - Integration and interpretation
Careful synthesis of test data, clinical history, and contextual factors. - Feedback and recommendations
Clear, meaningful feedback and a written report outlining findings and practical recommendations.
Our goal is to provide results that are clinically useful, understandable, and actionable.
Collaboration & Care Coordination
Assessment often functions as part of a broader treatment plan. With appropriate consent, we collaborate with:
- referring physicians and prescribers
- therapists and treatment teams
- academic institutions or workplace accommodation offices
Findings may be used to guide therapy, medication decisions, workplace supports, or academic planning.
Who We Work With
We provide assessment services for adolescents and adults. Referrals are accepted from:
- physicians and prescribers
- mental health providers
- OB/GYNs and fertility specialists
- schools and workplaces
- self-referred individuals seeking diagnostic clarification
Insurance & Fees
Psychological and neuropsychological assessment services are typically billed using out-of-network benefits, when available. Coverage and reimbursement vary by insurance plan.
Prior to scheduling, our administrative team:
- reviews out-of-network benefits
- provides an estimate of anticipated costs
- explains the billing process and expected timelines
Our practice manages claim submission on the patient’s behalf and provides all required documentation. While reimbursement cannot be guaranteed, we aim to offer transparency and support throughout the billing process. Self-pay options are also available.
